Following previous feedback from our members, the following explains how we manage deal listings from certain retailers. Deals that do not have confirmed stock availability will be moved to our Discussions section.
Why do we do this?
Several retailers list items and promotional prices on their websites or apps without providing a way to verify which local stores actually have stock available. To prevent disappointment, we want to ensure that the main Deals section only features offers that members can reliably find and purchase.
What is not affected: This change generally does not impact retailers that offer Click & Collect or home delivery, as these services typically confirm stock availability at the time of viewing.
What is affected: High street retailers that do not offer online ordering or reliable stock checking tools. For example, B&M often lists products and prices online, but because they do not offer Click & Collect or home delivery, there is no way to verify if a local store has the item in stock.

Tesco (in-store grocery app deals, this is due to the stock check being inaccurate. The main Tesco website is not affected)
What proof do we accept?
If you have proof of stock available, we're happy to keep your post in our Deals section as a local deal.

In the example above, this deal is listed on the B&M website, however as stock is not confirmed at all stores, the members has provided a copy of their receipt so we have posted the deal as a local instore.
National offers
Where there is confirmation of a national promotion at some retailers, we're happy for this to remain in deals and marked as 'National'.
Accepted proof of national promotions:
Official retailer social media posts - Heron Foods, Farmfoods
Retailer newsletters (Physical & Emailed) Farmfoods, Costco
Deals of the week B&M - https://www.bmstores.co.uk/products/deal-of-the-week
In the example above from Heron Foods, the retailer has issued official marketing showing the offer, so this post is in Deals and marked as 'National'.
The Community Support team may use discretion in allowing some deals to be marked as 'National' instore without proof of store availability subject to other forms of proof.
