What is Drago?

Drago is an AI assistant built into Hotukdeals. Tell it what you’re looking for in your own words and it will search our listings, suggest deals, answer questions about products, and share what the community has said about them.

Am I talking to a real person?

No. Drago is an AI assistant, not a member of our team. Like any AI, it can get things wrong, so it’s worth checking anything important for yourself.

What can I ask it?

Anything deal or shopping related. For example:

• “Noise-cancelling headphones under £150”

• “Is a Ninja air fryer worth it? What do the community say”

• “What’s the difference between these an OLED and LCD TV?”

• “I'm decorating my son's room, i have £500 to spend and he's a gamer, help me out Drago!”

How do I get better results?

The more Drago knows, the better it can narrow things down. Try including a budget, a brand, a retailer, or what you’ll use it for. If the first answer isn’t quite right, just tell Drago what to change, like “cheaper” or “only Argos”, and it will pick up from there.

What language does Drago use?

Drago is designed to chat in English.

Is Drago finished?

Not yet. Drago is new, and we’re still improving it based on how people use it. Your feedback genuinely helps.

Where results come from

Does Drago search the whole internet?

No. Drago only searches Hotukdeals. That covers deals shared by our community and our own product information. It doesn’t check other retailers or comparison sites, so there may be offers elsewhere that Drago won’t find, and prices may differ.

Will Drago always find me the cheapest price?

No, and it won’t claim to. Drago can only tell you about what’s on Hotukdeals, so it can’t promise a price is the lowest anywhere. It’s always worth a quick check elsewhere before you buy something expensive.

How does Drago decide what to show me?

Drago matches your request against our listings, using both the words you use and what they mean. Details like your budget, a retailer or a category narrow things down, and it can sort by price or by how popular a deal is with the community. Drago then uses AI to pick which results to show you and in what order, based on your conversation.

What does “hot” mean?

Every deal on hotukdeals has a temperature, set by community votes. Members vote a deal hotter if they think it’s good and colder if they don’t. When Drago mentions how hot a deal is, it’s telling you what the community thinks of it, not making a judgement of its own.

Can brands or retailers pay to appear in Drago?

No. No one pays for placement or ranking. No one can pay to have a deal shown by Drago, or to have it appear higher up.

Does Hotukdeals make money when I buy something?

Sometimes. We may earn a commission if you buy through a link in Drago’s results. This doesn’t affect which deals Drago shows you or the order they appear in. It’s one of the ways we keep Hotukdeals free to use.

Why didn’t Drago show a deal I know about?

A few possible reasons: the deal may have expired, it may not be on Hotukdeals at all, or Drago may have judged something else a closer match to what you asked for. You can always search Hotukdeals directly too.

Prices, deals and accuracy

Are the prices Drago shows always up to date?

Prices and stock change quickly and may differ elsewhere. Drago shows you what’s on the deal listing at the time you ask, so always check the deal page before you buy. You’ll see a short reminder of this whenever Drago shows you a price.

When Drago says something is a saving, what’s it comparing against?

Drago will tell you. If it says a deal is a good price, it will say what it’s comparing to, like the price over the last few months or the manufacturer’s recommended price. If there’s nothing reliable to compare against, Drago will just tell you the price rather than call it a saving.

Does Drago show expired deals?

Not when you’re looking for something to buy. Deal results only include deals that are still active.

When you ask for opinions or comparisons, Drago may quote comments from older threads, because what people thought of a product is still useful after a deal has ended. Anything from an expired thread is clearly labelled, and Drago won’t repeat old prices or voucher codes from those comments as if they still apply.

How old are the opinions Drago shares?

Drago gives more weight to recent comments, since things like a seller’s delivery or customer service can change over time. Older opinions can still appear, especially about the product itself, but newer ones count for more.

Can I trust what the community says?

Drago shares what Hotukdeals members have said, but those are people’s opinions and experiences, not checked facts. Drago will make that clear, and will summarise a range of views rather than treat one comment as the final word.

Can Drago get things wrong?

Yes. Like any AI, it can misread a question or get a detail wrong. Think of it as a starting point for your research, not the last word. Check the deal page before you buy, and let us know if something looks wrong.

Should I take Drago’s suggestions as advice?

Treat them as suggestions, not advice. Drago can help you narrow things down, but the decision is always yours. It isn’t a financial adviser and can’t tell you whether something is right for your circumstances.

What happens to what I type?

Your messages are used to answer your questions and to help us improve Drago. We automatically remove personal details like email addresses and phone numbers from the records we use to check Drago’s quality. You can read more in our Privacy Policy.

Should I share personal details with Drago?

There’s no need. Drago only needs to know what you’re shopping for. Please don’t share things like payment details, passwords, ID numbers, or personal information about other people.

If something goes wrong

Drago gave me a wrong price or a broken link. What should I do?

Please let us know using the feedback widget inside Drago. It helps us fix problems quickly. Prices change fast, so it’s also worth checking the deal page in case the deal has changed since it was posted.

Drago isn’t understanding what I want.

Try being more specific, for example by adding a budget, a brand or a retailer. If it still isn’t working, Hotukdeals search is always there.
